Brady's 1st Bath
Brady's first bath was given by his big sister. Nell, our nursery nurse, was great. She could see the hesistation from Madalyn and included her in the whole process. After his bath Madalyn warmed up to her new brother.

Welcoming Brady Elden Buchanan...
Brad and I arrived at the hospital at 5:00 on Tuesday, March 27th. We got a room and got everything going by 6:00. Dr. Farmer came in at 7:30, broke my water and started the pitcocin. I got my epideral at 9:30. The nurse came in at 10:00 to see if the epideral was in full effect (it was not), she also checked me and I was dilated to 6 cm. She continued to monitor the epideral to ensure that it was working. About 10 minutes later I told her I was feeling A LOT of pressure. She decided she would check me again before leaving the room. Well, I was at 9 cm. Yes...that is only a 10 minute time frame. She called Dr. Farmer and got everything ready, and at 10:47. Brady made his arrival. We have been blessed with two perfect children, two great pregnancy, and two easy deliveries. I thank God for that everyday!!!
The first time I got a good luck at our sweet "Little Man". Madalyn has started calling him that, and it is catching on!

Brady weighed 6 lbs 14 oz when we got discharged. At his weight check on Saturdayhe weighed 6 lbs 15 oz. It won't be long and it will pick up his weight. He is alreadytaking 3 oz of formula at every feeding. We are going about 4 hours between feedingssometimes longer. Madalyn started running a fever on Wednesday (Fever Virus) gotta love those. We have had to monitor her proximity to Brady and keep a check on both oftheir temperatures. So, since we have been home no pictures have been taking, but I will do better!

Last Weekend as a Family of Three...
We had our last weekend as a family of three. We wanted to make it a special one for Madalyn since we were about to turn her world upside down.
On Saturday, Madalyn and I went to the mall and got a few new outfits, lunch, and a quick stop at the car wash before we called it a day.
On Sunday, we went to Church and then decided to take a trip to the farm so Madalyn could play with the new baby goats, feed the fish, and just have fun. She did just that!!
On Monday, our last day as a family of three, Brad had school so Madalyn, me, and my mom went to get pedicures. Madalyn was taking it all in. She choose a baby blue color for her toes to help welcome her baby brother. We dropped Madalyn off at Brad's mom and dads that night since we had to be at the hospital at 5:00 the next morning.

Gettin' everything we need...
We had Brady's last baby shower today. It was great. We didn't have a great turn out but with the weather the way it was today, I wasn't surprised. Brady got some great gifts and Madalyn even got a few too.
Me with the hostess of the shower. My sister, Kari, Brooke, Jennifer, and Megan
Me and Paisley. She is due June 12, so I tried to prepare her for what she will look like at 36 weeks.
Me and the sweet Big Sister. Jennifer made her a cute big sister shirt but she would not put down her giraffe for you to see.

Let the Showers Begin...
I know I am behind on blogging, but please forgive me. It has been super busy at work and trying to get everything together for Brady's arrival, I have been exhausted by night. Work had a shower for me last week and it was great. The staff I work with at NHS is wonderful. Jennifer and Emily are the other two counselors and made the shower happen. I got lots of diapers, wipes, and gift cards.
We had a family shower at Brad's mom and dads house today and it was great. Jessica (Brad's cousins wife) did an amazing job with all of the details. We got lots of great stuff and I feel like if Brady were to come tomorrow we would have stuff for him. I know that sounds terrible but we really didn't have anything. Going from a girl to a boy is gonna be a big change.
We have one more shower next Saturday and I can't wait to see what all we get.
Madalyn had a blast at the shower today and she loved opening all of her brother's present. She was very excited when she realized she had presents too. I am 35 weeks pregnant and can't believe the last month is here.

Growin'...
New Rooms for the kiddos'...
We are almost finished with Brady's nursery, just a few things to go on the wall and we will be done. I have my dear friend Davina painting canvases to match the 4 patches on his bedding. There is a tricycle, wagon, horse, and rocket. They should be super cute!! My mother-in-law is painting his name. So far it is super cute. I can't wait to see the final product!!
As far as Madalyn goes we decided that since she was starting to climb in and out of her crib, and since I was having a hard time lifting her over the side of it, we would make the plunge to a big girl bed. My goal was to turn her bed into a full size bed. Her goal was something completely different. She wanted nothing, and when I say nothing that is exactly what I mean, to do with the full size bed. So, we just turned her bed into a toddler bed and got new bedding for her. She loves it and is ready for bed before 8:00 every night. We don't normally get to bed by then but it is shortly after! She hasn't gotten out of her bed since we made the change.
Mommy is getting big and uncomfortable, but I know it is all worth it in the end. I am exactly where I was when I was pregnant with Madalyn, but oh my how the pregnancy are completely different. Brady is very forceful with his moves and likes to sit right on my bladder, so everytime I stand up the bathroom is my first stop. At my 28 week checkup I was measuring right on track and Brady was about 1 1/2 pounds (that is an estimate from the Dr.). We are heading into our last 10 weeks and I hope they continue to go by quick. We are ALL (even Madalyn) ready to meet our little man.
