Update...

Sorry it has been a while. It has been very crazy around here lately. So, as most of my bloggers know, Madalyn has been wearing corrective shoes for 11 months now. We were referred to a doctor in Birmingham when we went for her check-up in January. We went yesterday to see our pediatric orthopedic specialist to find out what is going on with her little bitty feet.

Here is what we got... She has skewfoot! It is congenital and can correct itself by 18 months of age. Well, that is next month for us so we need a miracle, that is what the doctor said. We go back in 6 months for more x-rays in hopes of seeing more of the bone development. Skewfoot is where one of the bones in the foot grow in the shape of a triangle or trapezoid instead of a rectangle, this is what makes the foot turn inward. When we have x-rays next time we should know a little more. However, he said the only way to correct it (if we don't get a miracle) is surgery when she is 3 or 4. I really hope that is not the case, but it is in God's hands and I know He will take care of my sweet baby girl.

I will keep you all posted as we get news. Please keep us in your prayers!

  1. Sweet little girl. I hope her feet fix themselves without surgery but if surgery is necessary, I'm sure she will recover like a little champion. Thinking of you guys!
