1 Year Check Up...

So, Madalyn had her year check-up on Thursday, and it was an experience like no other! She screamed from the time the nurse walked in until she left. She kept pointing to the door and telling the Dr. bye bye. She had all of those terrible shots and they took blood from her finger to check her iron. She kept rubbing her finger and moaning in the car on the way home. The Dr.'s report was good- he said Madalyn is a healthy, active one year old. She weighs 18 lbs. 11 oz. (11.6% for her age) and is 31 in. long (87% for her age). She is finally back to herself and hasn't ran fever for since yesterday morning, so we are good to go.

On Friday, she had to go to the foot Dr. about her feet. Well, she screamed the whole time again, and the Dr. wasn't able to do a whole lot. We have to continue her exercises and she has to continue wearing her corrective shoes. They will do X-rays in December to see if we are making progress.

I want to give my mom (Madalyn's nana) a special thanks for taking her to her check-ups. I can say I am glad I didn't have to, because I would have cried the whole time too.

Happy 1st Birthday Madalyn...

Madalyn loved the cupcakes and ice cream. She ate the entire cupcake! Needless to say she did not eat a very big supper, but I guess once a year won't hurt her. I can't believe my little girl is a year old. Time flies, and I am enjoying every minute of it!! Thank you to all of our family and friends for celebrating with us! We love you Madalyn :).

Presents, Presents, and more Presents...

Madalyn had so much fun opening presents. I think she got a little overwhelmed, but still had a good time.

What a Year...

It is hard to believe that this time last year I was at the hospital begging for pain medication (that I never got). It was this day a year ago that our beautiful little girl was born. We thank God each and everyday for Madalyn and all of His wonderful blessings that He has given to our family. I can remember the pain I was in this time last year, but all of that pain went away the very first time I held Madalyn in my arms. She is such a joy and this year has been amazing. We are excited to share this day with family and friends and I know that we will have many more years to celebrate.

I will post pictures later of the little princess on her special day!

Madalyn's First Haircut...

Madalyn refuses to keep a bow in her hair so I had to break down and cut her bangs. They are not perfect, but what do you do when you have a moving object!?! Here is a picture before, during, and after her 1st haircut.
