Christmas as a Family of 4...

What a Christmas...Madalyn was so excited about Santa this year.  She woke up Christmas morning and asked if Santa was here.  We said no but he came.  She then said, "it is Jesus' birthday today". She is such a sweet little girl!!!

Brady was not thrilled that he got woken up to watch his sister open all of the presents. She decided to help Brady with his since he didn't seem interested.  Once he got awake he started exploring all the stuff that was out.  He has enjoyed all of his presents and so has Madalyn.  They are some sweet babies!!!

The Star of Bethlehem...

Madalyn had her Christmas program at school.  She was chosen to be the star.  I am so proud of her.  I can't believe she did it.  She had to walk out by herself and stand in the center of the stage.  She was so serious about her position :).  She was the most beautiful star I have ever seen.

Happy Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving was great.  I am so glad that my granny is here to enjoy the holidays with us.  She has been such a blessing to us since she moved back to Dothan.  Madalyn and Brady love granny and Nana.  We didn't get a photo session with Brad's family but we had a great Thanksgiving with them as well.  It was a good and busy day! We all got a nap in to settle the food we ate :).

8 Months Old...

Brady is 8 months old, oh my!!!  He is growing so fast.  If I had to guess I would say he is about 19 pounds.  He loves to crackers, cookies, and anything that you can put in his mouth.  He is crawling, pulling up, and starting to walk around stuff.  He talks all the time, he wants us to know what he is saying but we can't make it out yet :).  He loves his sister so much.  He has started disappearing in the house and we know we can always find him in Madalyn's bedroom.  He is such a happy baby!!

Since he has gotten his tubes he is sleeping all night!!!!  For people who care this is what a good day schedule is:

Where to start...

I am going to catch everybody up on the Buchanan family...In October, I thought I was having a heart attack, lucky for me it was just my gallbladder.  The pain was terrible.  I would birth 10 more babies to not go through that pain again.  So, on October 18, I had my gallbladder removed.  I had awesome care thinks to my sweet friend Jennifer.  It was a little hard having surgery on the 18th because that was a year to the day that my grandpa had passed away.  Made it through surgery and the recovery was a little harder than I had thought it would be.  It is very hard not to pick up my sweet babies.

So, one month late I decided to take my babies to the ENT.  I just couldn't take another ear infection for Brady.  He was on number 5 in 4 months.  Sure enough the Dr. said he needed tubes sooner than later.  I half expected him to tell me Madalyn was fine, but he informed me she had fluid on both ears.  He said it is the kind of fluid that doesn't cause an infection but can cause hearing loss and speech problems.  He also said she had a sleep disorder which is why she talks, tosses in her sleep so much.  He recommended tubes for her and wanted to take her adenoids out.  So, we scheduled them both for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  Yes, we did them both at the same time.

Brady let me take a before picture but Madalyn was not excited about what was going to come so she would not let me take her picture.  I got an after picture only because she was asleep on the way home.

The kids woke up on Wednesday and have been completely different children.  Don't get me wrong, my babies are sweet and don't cause to much of a problem, but I can tell they feel better.  We went today for a check up and the Dr. said they both look great!!

Praise God...He is good!!!

The Best Fair Ever...

I always look forward to the fair...usually it is just for the food, but this year I was excited to see what Madalyn would do.  Last year she wanted nothing to do with the rides or really anything.  So we loaded up the family on Monday night and gave it a shot.  Madalyn loved it, Brady was amazed by all the lights and people.  Unfortunately it started raining and we had to leave.  I decided that after the annual parade, Madalyn and I would give it one more shot.  Again it was a success.  She rode everything she could (even the roller coaster which I had to ride as well), played games, petting zoo, fried oreos...you name it she wanted to do it.  The parade was a hit too, Brady loved it, and then decided he wanted a little nap (he slept for about an hour, sirens and all).  Madalyn loved it too and it was great having my mom and granny with us.  Madalyn was lucky enough to run into some of her friends from school too.  We have to thank Jennifer and Kennadie for getting us great seats and letting us sit with them.

Fall is in the Air....

We had a busy Halloween week.  We made our trip to the Pumpkin Patch...picture time was unsuccessfully but here are a few shots.  Brady was more interested in eating the hay and Madalyn did not like the sun in her eyes.  We trick-or-treated in our neighborhood and Madalyn had a great time.  She was all into it this year.  As you can see we had a sweet and beautiful Tinkerbell and a happy and handsome Pirate.  Brady was not impressed with his hat and just wanted to chew on his hook, but at least he was cute doing it.
